About the role

We are looking to hire experienced senior architects who are interested in bringing their talent and ambition on a diverse portfolio of exciting projects and who want to be part of the overall BETAPLAN culture.

In this role, you will be responsible to manage and guide your team to achieve the goals set by the Principal or Partner and organize comprehensive and fault-free submissions for every phase of a project. Schedule and Project Budget management will be part of your daily routine and you will be required to report regularly to the Principal or Partner about the status of the project, and offer proactively mitigation strategies and solutions for issues and risks that may arise. It is anticipated that you will bring an advanced and established skillset to the company from which your teams will benefit from the get-go without “learning curve” delays.

A good fit for this role, should feel comfortable to juggle between multiple responsibilities and projects while effectively leading a number of architects towards the achievement of individual project and corporate goals. Meanwhile, representing successfully the firm in front of the Authorities, the Client and other stakeholders is a must, showing a balanced mixture of technical expertise, strategic thinking and collaborative attitude. At the same time, effective communication and active listening are of paramount importance for this role, since you will be the leading source of motivation and mentorship for your team.

Your Responsibilities

• Manage small teams of architects in medium and large-scale projects, ensuring the proper and timely delivery of all design packages from design to execution
• Organize and manage the preparation of documents that will be shared with the client and 3rd parties
• Be the main point of contact for external consultants, representing the firm on a day-to-day basis
• Lead the coordination of all disciplines to produce a comprehensive, compliant and coordinated packages as needed in each phase
• Act as the connection between the management and project team, reporting to them regularly on the status, budget, and schedule of projects
• Proactively identify and mitigate any risks that may arise during a project and navigate your project successfully in ambiguous circumstances
• Preside design meetings in the absence of the Principal or Partner, and facilitate brainstorming sessions with your team members
• Provide mentorship and support to your team members and to less experienced architects
• Ensure that all deliverables, formal and informal, uphold BETAPLAN’s standards, values, and goals during all the phases of a project

Skills & Requirements

• Professional qualification in Architecture or a related field
• 10+ years of post-grad professional experience as an Architect
• 5+ years of project management experience as an Architect on built references
• Professional experience in large-scale projects and multi-disciplinary collaborations with strong understanding of technical detailing and construction administration
• Expertise in drafting specifications on budget and confidence in selecting materials accordingly
• Professional knowledge of planning regulations in Greece, such as NOK, Fire Safety, etc.
• Excellent organizational and management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and keep your team’s budget in a high-paced work environment
• Practical, adaptable and proactive mindset, that gives you the ability to translate directives into action
• Professional attention to detail with an inner-drive for precision
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills that allows you to find innovative ways of dealing with a variety of tasks or issues and resolve them
• Professional knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator) and MS office
• Advanced knowledge and experience working with Revit in a multi-disciplinary environment
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and team-oriented approach to solving problems
• Strong commitment towards the professional development of your team members
• Permission to live and work in the EU

Nice to have

• Work experience at an international architectural firm
• Good knowledge of Rhino, SketchUp, and/or other 3d modelling and parametric software
• Experience working with project management tools is a plus (MS Project, Asana, Slack, etc.)
• Working knowledge of the German language
